PAST EVENTS SAP SAPPHIRE 2002, Lisbon NRX and SAP have collaborated to develop, and bring to market, Visual Information for Plants (VIp), a powerful Portal application for plant maintenance and equipment performance in asset-intensive industries. SAPPHIRE was the premiere event for launching and demonstrating VIp. The VIp Portal makes essential information and enabling tools easily available to support multi-disciplinary plant team and work processes. It connects siloed operations and maintenance applications, enables real-time information flow, and provides the tools to share information across multiple plants - establishing the common terminology, collaborative platform and rich database required to achieve enterprise-wide "best practice" maintenance and operational excellence. By extending the reach and effectiveness of IT on the shop floor, VIp can significantly improve productivity and profitability in asset-intensive industries.
